I have seen a lot of changes these past 40+ years. I started living green and eating green when I was about 17 years old. It’s hard to imagine that it has been that long ago. Yes, like grandma says, time slips away very quickly.
Recently I picked up a saying of my 25 year old daughters ‘back in the day’, I love it! Well, back in the day we recycled alright, but the nearest recycling center was a 2 hour drive away. My ‘green’ friends and I would save all our paper, glass and cans and make a trip once a month. It was a big ordeal but we made it a fun day. However, I can still hear my father telling me that I was getting gypped. He exchanged cans for money and surly thought I didn’t have a good business sense.
Well, I could easily write a book about the many environmental changes over the past 40 years. Instead, I occasionally write a post and oftentimes re-post someone’s amazing article that makes a big difference in our world.
I say, if everyone did just a little bit, the world would be so much better off.One small change has a way of rippling and growing into bigger and better things. It doesn’t matter what it is, small things add up. So, pick something that will help change our world for the better. It doesn’t matter what it is, our world needs all the help it can get! For example; recycling, grow organic foods, use solar or wind energy, buy only Fair Trade and GMO free products, etc. Pick one thing and be committed.
